Meteor X Dual Range Model R

General Information

All Procedures for this X-Ray have been taken from the original Ritter Service Manual and have been edited. For more detailed information refer to the original Ritter Service Manual

 

 

WARNING

The following procedures are intended for qualified X-Ray Technicians and should not be attempted by any one else.  Failure to heed this warning could result in bodily injury.

CAUTION 

Turn each x-ray head to be tested so that no person will be in the path of radiation and place a lead disc (O.S. 120) inside the Cone to block radiation.

Taking An Exposure

Turn the power to the x-ray on at the source.  Turn the power switch to the on position.  One of the KVP indicator lights will come on when the power switch is activated even though the keylocks are still off. 

At the Master Control, turn the keylock switch to on; at which time the “ready” (amber) light on the Master power panel will light.

The amber ready lights on the remote control units will not light until the keylock switch on the respective remote panel (which activates the control) is turned on

Turn the time selecting knob for the desired exposure time

Adjust the KVP compensation knob until the  KVP meter needle indicates in the green zone.

NOTE

When an exposure is made, the red x-ray light and the tone signal at the associated control will be ON for the duration of the exposure.  The amber ready light will go out when an exposure is being made.

Make two exposures at this setting ( shortest time exposure).  Rotate the Time Selector knob to a the longest time setting.

CAUTION     Allow at least 35 seconds between exposures.

Make two more exposures.
